A week with no sleep that left me completely refreshed and rejuvenated

Wow! What a week! I spent the past 6 days as a Junior Counselor at the Oregon Association of Student Councils (OASC) summer camp! It is probably the only week with no sleep that can leave a person refreshed and rejuvenated. A week full of dancing, serenade, skits, games, boundary breaking, and family.
I had the privilege to work with some of the most amazing, inspiring, and giving people I have ever met; and the opportunity to be surrounded by some of the most incredible and talented students from all over Oregon who give great hope to our future!
OASC creates an environment that allows students to let go for a week and be their complete selves without worrying about fitting in and being judged. It creates a safe space where students feel able to share some of their deepest secrets. It is so much more than a leadership camp; of course there are the focus groups where students learn about goal setting, project planning, communication etc... but they leave with so much more than that: they leave with a sense of self, a support group, new friends, and most importantly...a new family.
I went to camp with the intent to touch and inspire the lives of each camper there, but I had no idea how much I would take away as well. Throughout the next couple of days I'm going to write about more experience at camp in more detail.
To my OASC family - I love you all!
